I will be here for 5 years getting a PhD in Chemical Engineering at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utexas.edu\/\">The University of Texas at Austin<\/a>.  It seems to be a really nice city so far, and my wife really likes it too.  It&#8217;s large enough that there are a few other Japanese that we have located already, and there are a few stores where she can buy some of the things that she needs\/wants.<\/p>\n<p>I only have until the end of September to decide which professor I would like to work under for the next 5 years.  That&#8217;s a very big decision, and I don&#8217;t have a lot of time to make it.  (Assuming I get to work with whom I choose, that is.)  And on top of that I have three very hard classes.  Advanced Transport (graduate-level momentum, heat, and mass transfer), Advanced Thermodynamics (i.e. intro to statistical mechanics), and Advanced Math for Engineers.  (This one is considered easy compared to the first two, but I get the feeling that it&#8217;s by comparison only.)
